What Will Save Sanatana Dharma
Inspired by the Śaunaka praśna of the Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad - what is the one idea, institution, or action whose presence would ensure the survival of Sanatana Dharma?
What is that one idea which will save Sanatana dharma? Nationalist Hindus believe that Hindu society is under attack from all sides. It is faced with internal as well as external enemies. The pressure at Hindu society is extreme and its defensive capacity is bursting at seams. Hindu cosmology is familiar with Shaunaka prashna. In Mundaka Upanishad, Shaunaka asks his guru ‘what is that by knowing which everything else becomes known’? It is a meta question, the question of all questions. Shaunaka is taking the direct approach to seek the root problem of all problems, and solve all by solving one. It points our attention towards the root of the problem. It also shows the root-cause seeking nature of the Hindu tradition.
In the same tradition of Shaunaka, this big question asks what is that one idea, action, or institution which will save Sanatana dharma? It will collate many ideas from many stakeholders in purview to present a full picture to the readers.
