A case-inflected word denoting 'colour' is compounded with another case-inflected word which is in agreement with the former and also denotes colour and the resulting compound is tat-puruṣa ,

As कृष्णसारङ्गः 'spotted antelope,' लोहितसारङ्गः 'antelope-gappled with red.' कृष्णशवलः 'dappled with black spots' &c. For accent 6.2.3.,
