The 2nd case-affix is employed after a word which is joined with a karmapravacanīyāḥ [[1.4.83]].,
Ex. शाकल्यस्य संहितामनुप्रावर्षत् 'It rained on (hearing) the reading of the Veda by Sakalya.' So also आगस्त्यमन्वसिंचत् प्रजाः ॥,
