The augments aṭ and āṭ are added to the tiṅ (Personal Endings) of the leṭ (Vedic Subjunctive).,
The augments अट् and आठ् are not to be added at once, but by turns. Thus जुष् + सिप् + अट् + त् = जोषिषत्; तारिषत्, मान्दिषत्; similarly पत् + आट् + ति = पताति; च्यावयाति । See 3.1.34 for the addition of सिप् in the above.,
