गृष्ट्य्-आदिभ्यश् च

Adhyāya 4 · Pāda 1 · Rule 136

The affix ḍhañ comes in the sense of a descendant after the word gṛṣṭi etc.,

This debars अण् and ढक् &c. Thus गार्ष्टेयः, हार्ष्टेय ॥ The word गृष्टि when it means 'a cow' will of course get the affix ढञ् by the last Sutra. The present sutra applies when it does not mean a four-footed animal, but means 'a woman who has one child only'.
