रोणी

This debars अञ् of 4.2.74. This sutra consists of one word रोणी in the nominative case. As a general rule all words to which affixes are to be added are put in the ablative case in these sutras. The fact of this exceptional treatment of the word रोणी indicates that this word takes अण् under all circumstances, whether alone, or forming part of a compound.
