छन्दोग-औक्थिक-याज्ञिक-बह्वृच-नटाज् ञ्यः

Adhyāya 4 · Pāda 3 · Rule 129

The affix ñya comes in the sense of 'this is his Law or Tradition' after the words 1. chāndoga 2. aukthika 3. yājñika 4. bahvṛca and 5. naṭa,

The anuvritti of संघ &c ceases. The ञ्य debars अण् and वुञ् ॥ The phrase चरणाद्धर्माम्नाययोः from sutra 4.3.126 is understood here and applies even to the word नटः ॥

Thus छन्दोगानां धर्मो वा ऽऽ म्नायो वा छान्दोग्यम् 'the Law or Tradition peculiar to the Chhandoga.' So also औक्थिक्यम्, याज्ञिक्यम्, बाह्वृच्यम् and नाट्यम् ॥

Not having this sense we have : छान्दोगं कुलम् 'the family of Chhandoga.',
