सञ्ज्ञायां शरदो वुञ्

Adhyāya 4 · Pāda 3 · Rule 27

The affix vuñ comes after the word śarada in the Locative -7th case-affix in the sense of 'born therein', the whole word being a name.,

This debars अण् ॥ Thus शारदका दर्भाः 'the grass called Saradaka'. शारदका मुद्गाः 'the pulse called Saradaka.'

Why do we say संज्ञायां ? Observe शारदं सस्यम् 'the autumnal crop.'

According to some, the word संज्ञायां governs all the succeeding sutras up to 4.3.38.,
