The affix kan comes in the sense of 'this is the principal food of this particular occasion' after a word denoting food in the Nominative 1st-Case in construction, when the whole word so formed is a Name.,

Thus गुडापूपाः प्रायेणान्नमस्या पौर्णमास्यां = गुडापूपिका पौर्णमासी \The Gudapupika - Paurnmasi\ i. e that particular Full- Moon day in which cakes of sugar form the principal accompaniment of food. Similarly तिलापूपिका, कृशरिका, त्रिपुटिका &c.

Vart:- The affix इनि comes after वटक in the same sense. As वटकिनी पौर्णमासी ॥,
