The affixes āc (ā) and āhi come after uttarā come in the sense of astāti when the reference is to a distant limit.,
Thus उत्तरा or उत्तराहि वसति or रमणीयम् \He lives far away in the north: or the northward far away is pleasant\. But when 'distance' is not meant we have उत्तरेण प्रयाति ॥ The word governs this also: as उत्तरादागतः ॥,
