i is optionally substituted for the ā of hā (juhotyādigaṇaḥ (3rd Conjugation)) before a sārvadhātuka affix kit or ṅit beginning with a consonant.,
Thus जहितः or जहीतः 6.4.113 जहिथः or जहीथः 6.4.113. But जहति before a vowel affix, and जहाति before a non-ङित् affix, an हीयते and जिहीयते before an ardhadhatuka. The separation of this sutra from the last, is for the sake of subsequent aphorisms.,
