2 Apathy, sluggish- ness, inactivity.

3 Dulness of intel- lect, folly, stupidity; tajjāḍyaṃ vasudhādhi- pasya Bh. 2. 15; jāḍyaṃ dhiyo harati 2. 23; jāḍyaṃ hrīmati gaṇyate 54.

4 Tasteless- ness of the tongue. Comp. ariḥ the citron tree.
