N. of the charioteer of king Dhṛtarāṣṭra. He tried to bring about a peaceful settlement of the dispute between the Kau- ravas and Pāṇḍavas, but failed. It was he who narrated the events of the great Bhāratī war to the blind king Dhṛtarāṣṭra; cf. Bg. 1. 1.
