N. of a king of the lunar race. He married Gaṅgā and Satya- vatī; by the former wife he had a son named Bhīṣma, and by the latter Citrāṅgada and Vicitravīrya. Bhīṣma remained a celibate all his life, and his younger brothers died childless; cf. bhīṣma.
