The affix iñ is placed after the word sudhātṛ in denoting the descendant and the ṛ of sudhātṛ is replaced by the substitute akaṅ before this affix.,
Thus सुधातुरपत्यम् = सौधातकिः 'the descendant of Sudhatri.'
