समासस्य

Thus राजपुरुषः꣡ ब्राह्मणकम्बलः꣡, कन्याखनः꣡, पटहशब्दः꣡, नदीघोषः꣡, राजदृष꣡त्, ब्राह्मणसमि꣡त् ॥ The consonants being held to be non-existent for the purposes of accent, the udatta will fall on the vowel though it may not be final, the final being a consonant. The exceptions to this rule will be mentioned in the next chapter.,
