In a dvigu samāsa (Numeral Determinative Compound) the first member may optionally preserve its accent when followed by the words diṣṭi and vitastias its second members.,
Thus प꣡ञ्चदिष्टिः or पञ्चदिष्टिः꣡, प꣡ञ्चवितस्तिः or पञ्चवितस्तिः꣡ ॥ The affix मात्रच् is elided after the प्रमाण denoting words dishti and vitasti 5.2.37.,
