Comp. jaḥ tanayaḥ, -sutaḥ, -sūnu an epithet of the first three Pāṇḍava princes, but generally applied only to Arjuna; aśvatthānā hata iti pṛthāsūnunā spaṣṭamuktavā Ve 3. 9; abhitasnaṃ pṛthāsūnuḥ snehena pa- ritastare Ki. 11. 8. patiḥ an epi- thet of Pāṇḍu.
