1. 4. U. 1 To grow discoloured or soiled, be coarse or rough; keśā api virajyaṃte niḥsnehāḥ kiṃ na sevakāḥ Pt. 1. 82 (where it has sense 2 also).
2 To be discon- tented or disaffected, to dislike, hate; cirānurakto'pi virajyate janaḥ Mk. 1. 53; yāṃ ciṃtayāmi satataṃ mayi sā vira- ktā Bh. 2. 2; Bk. 18. 22.
3 To become disgusted with the world and hence to renounce all worldly attachments. Caus. To colour, dye.
