2 (The space) Between the thumb and the forefinger, supposed to be sacred to the Manes, as water &c. in cere- monies like tarpaṇa is offered to them being poured down through that space; pradeśinyaṃguṣṭhayoraṃtarā apasalavi apasa- vyaṃ vā tena pitṛbhyo nidadhāti Śabdak.
