2 A jour- nal, a book in which accounts of re- [Page0658-c+ 56] ceipts and expenditure are entered.

3 The record or register of human actions kept by Yama. (For other senses see paṃji above). Comp. kā- rakaḥ a scribe, a man of the Kāyastha tribe.
